I have always liked British bikes since i was about 10 i suppose. Main reason is that i like to do mechanical work which is a definite advantage if you have an old bike.
Modern bikes i prefer are the late 70s and 80s Japanese large capacity bikes. The new Triumphs i have owned are very good for long distance 2 up and luggage rides with low speed engines, there is very little fatigue or noise.
If i was buying a more modern classic, it would be the Yamaha 1300 like Jerry has.
