I have been using my other CBR400 NC23 AS A Track day bike but decided it would be nice to use it more at race events although I will still be out in the non competitive events ie what is termed as parades but is mainly ex riders so when I say non competitive I use the term very loosely as it does get a bit hectic out on track. This is the bike being ridden at Mallory in the festival of 1000 bikes a few years ago.


Race bikes are not allowed fold up footrest which the NC23 has as standard so I have now fitted solid footrests.




A brake guard for the front brake. This is to prevent another rider catching it when overtaking and jamming the front brake on which could involve a nasty off. These are now a requirement for track days as well.




A sharks fin is required covering the area where the chain join the rear sprocket at the bottom. The main reason for this is to prevent a trackside marshal getting fingers caught when picking up bike if it has been crashed on track.


The bottom half of the fairing is with a friend of mine who is fabricating a part to make it fully enclosed at the base as the standard bike is open at the bottom. These rules all apply to ACU controlled race events but track days do not run under the ACU ruling so are more relaxed although they do have to have all bike noise tested as this is a race circuit requirement. Think I have remembered everything. I will soon find out the the bike goes through for it first race meeting scrutineering which is very strict.
