That Volvo is severely damaged with the hybrid battery having been smashed and all its wiring and controller. The car looks to have now become offset so a shift in all wheel alignment. It is also an insurers rule that if a drive shaft gets hit or front wheel knocked back, it usually gets written off as the insurer suspects drive train damage.
If that car goes back on the road, it will have a marker about the damage so will be a low priced car and not one that any retailer will buy.
Seats are nice though and thats what i like in Volvos, they use real leather while BMW and Mercedes use a plastic based leather. Some Korean cars have real leather but they also have the spars problems.
XC60 and XC 90 are too big for me and the cost is ludicrous.I try to keep under 40k but am finding the qulity is not first class so the Volvo cost is aroung 42K for an XC 40. The one i bought in 2020 was about 40k. after 3 years it was still sold at 27k. My Toyota will have lost a lot more due to the known problems that Toyota are unable to fix on the entire range of hybrids. I have fixed mine as i know it has parasitic battery drain so a larger battery and solar charger with separate controller to avoid overcharge. These Hybrids can avoid the battery charge loss a little if you switch off the ECO mode and the hybrid does not switch on much. This defeats the whole reason to have a hybrid. On eco Today, on a traffic packed 12 mile drive, i was able to achieve 72 mpg with the car running 76 percent on the traction battery. That is the journey they are best on just driving slow in heavy traffic. At motorway speeds with a bit of 50 mph restrictions as i find up country, it will be covering 57 mpg for the 360 mile of that trip. Good for a 200 bhp 2 litre but that is not using half of its potential power.
Volvo is mild hybrid 48 volt so does not drive on battery at all. That system is a fiddle to get the hybrid discount from Governments. It was 3k on my last new one. That 48 volt battery and motor adds 1 mpg as it just gives a tiny boost to the power when overtaking. There are a lot of cons out there which is why i will have a look at the simple Mazda 2.5 litre car but that does not have leather interior and even the floor mats are charged as an extra ut it is a lot less money
