As most walking stick users know, you really need two sticks to ease walking pain.
Getting these benefits often gets you a free shower conversion, hand rails and stair alterations all done free. The work is often poor quality but i have done all the work in my house for the future.
P.I.P has to be awarded before the age of 65 . I am trying to get some assistance for my Brother who is developing dementia at 74 years. I am expecting this claim to be rejected so it will be challenged. He might get attendance allowance which would help if he needs daily checks or visits.
The D.W.P is always stating people are not claiming. The reality is that they turn down virtually every claim submitted. I just got P.I.P for my 26 years old Grandaughter who is blind in one eye and many health problems. She was born with these problems and despite social services running her life, they had never suggested a claim. At age 25, they stopped all help and support so i made the claim and she now has money for support at last. The claim also enabled her to get a blue badge but even that, she had to apply for and denied. I sent one email saying i would take this up for her and by the end of that day, she was given a blue badge. You really need to persist with these Government departments. Often run by agency, Capita, who are tasked with denying claims for the D.W.P
