He has been having memory loss for quite some time now and some falls. I put in a claim for attendance allowance and the DWP responded in 3 weeks and gave hm this benefit. The problems began due to doing lead soldering as a plumber.
He has been having a chaotic life and now i find the local Council and water company have charged him 6 years and over 20k for a flat in his house when he has no flat. He just kept paying the bills as they came in.
Got hold of his Daughter who now needs to get power of Attorney so she can deal with recovery of his money. His house is quite valuable and will become hers so she is getting this protection in place.
For those here, or if you have family members not doing so well, keep an eye on them as Brother could have claimed many years ago but no one told him despite all the hospital visits for lead poisoning.
Well done DWP for acting fast on the claim. Never known them to work that fast. I did explain he may not recall doing a claim. He turned up at my house and asked if i had done the claim so 3 weeks and memory of that, was already gone.
Only 15 Months apart but i did not use much lead in my work where he was soldering Church lead roofs and breathing in the fumes for over 30 years
