All the disabled spaces marked out in white paint are courtesy only so anyone can park there. I find that in Exmouth, not very many people without a blue badge park in the spaces at the supermarket. Of course, parking there does not require you to display a blue badge and some people have hidden disabilities.
I had one occasion when a police officer became abusive when i parked at a bank machine so i rolled up my trousers and showed him a lot of leg damage. So that he was not wrong, he made me move 10 foot so i had to walk 10 foot to the machine.
I have had a blue badge since 1980 and its been very useful.
