I did manage to hit an elderly pedestrian on Exmouth seafront in the Mini. She was at the pavement edge with husband and suddenly ran across. Then, the husband ran out trying to catch her so i had 2 targets. Lucky i was able to stop and just clip her ankle. Police attended and agreed she was at fault. I was just pleased she had no injuries.
That Mini stopped fast as it had disc brakes being a Cooper model when normal Minis were still using drum brakes.
Police cars in the 70s could never have caught up with a Cooper as that was the time of the Morris Minor for them. You could always hear a Morris Minor coming as it parped every time it decerated
