We stop at a Cricket club for a breakfast then up to Dulverton to a riverside pub for Lunch before returning to Exeter. Its a lot of Country laning and at times, we come up against traffic and 100 bikes are expected to reverse by some of the car drivers.
The Dartmoor run in 3 weeks is better as there are some pretty sheep on the Moors.
The pub at Princetown we used to go in has closed so park where you can. I go straight to the Foxtor cafe for a superb breakfast then return to Exeter to see all the rigged prize giving. Same people win every year. Often, there is a spectacular bike at the event but the owner might not be favoured and no prize. I have seen 3 bikes win prizes that had broken down at the Quay and did not do the run at all.
Funniest year was when the Chairman rode a new Harley and went off the side of the road. Just a few bent parts on the soft verge but how we all laughed .
3 years ago a rider died on his bike before hitting a parked car and he was 86 riding a Bantam. A good way to leave the planet out on his bike and enjoying freedom. Not often we have accidents but there have been bikes dropped by some of the elderly riders. That run has many riders over 80
