I was lucky that there was enough spare cable to be able to get hold of with the mole grips. I was "reviewing" the tools that I carry with me on the H2 a few weeks ago which are very basic, did consider leaving the moles out of the kit, good job I didn't.

Just a small tug on the cable caused a big lunge forward, it was pretty hairy riding it like that.

The throttle cable is made up of 4 cables - the one that broke goes to a junction box, where the other 3 join it.

Think I will probably replace the whole lot while I am at it given the age of the bike.

Don't ask how much........
