Changed the shock absorber Today. Just 2 bolts into a captive thread so very easy. Then, the brake lever and master cylinder which just clamps on and 1 fluid pipe union bolt. These master cylinders are self bleeding. Just fill with fluid and pull the lever 3 times and all air is removed.
The master cylinder sight glass had begun to melt and was turning to a jelly. Its this system where all plastics have to self destruct and break down with age and this one is 13 year old. Engine very quiet at 25,000 miles so far.
Parts are a fraction of the price of any other branded bikes. Master cylinder and lever at 30 pound.
Now it is needing a rear tyre. Grandchildren keep bringing me work. Lucky many of the 17 live too far away.
