I have seen many trees collide with a car locally and in most cases, 1 or more car occupants die. Worst one was near Exeter on a dual carriageway. 4 people in the car and as it lost control, a young girl called Kate Smith fell out and suffered a broken arm. The car then hit the tree and all others were killed by the sudden stop. That tree now has a steel armco around it. Young Kate later became a major property developer in Exmouth.
Young people in cars that are full are a great danger to themselves. I can recall a lot of these crashes that happened within 5 miles of Exmouth in the rural roads. People do not realise these trees are as solid as a steel rod would be
