I saw an Amazon van knock my next door neighbour's garden wall down, after delivering to their house. We had the Reg No. & time of delivery etc.
Amazon said they knew nothing about it & when challenged said he was self-employed & nothing to do with their insurance - we pointed out it was an Amazon liveried van.
Police said it was a civil matter until Amazon's liability or not was confirmed, at which time if appropriate they would pursue the driver (who'd disappeared by now) as uninsured.
Neighbour's legal cover said not worth pursuing & insurer said increase in premiums for up to 5 years if they paid out, but nothing if they took the wall down themselves.
Makes you want to spit.
