Insurers aren't interested in justice, just weigh up the cost of a legal fight with Amazon & give up.
20+ years ago a group of us had licenced a couple of patents from a US university & it was stolen by a very, very big US/global company. The university challenged them & the company pointed out how many $mm they "invested" in the university & I had a phone call from the company lawyers (recorded but inadmissible under US law!) telling me I could sue them if I had the balls and the cash for it.
Our insurers said if they tried hard enough they could find a reason not to cover the legal action.
The person responsible at the university was appalled at her bosses for chickening out & was moved to a new job when she "forgot" to renew the patents, so now it's all in the public domain.
I have a permanent threat in place of deportation to USA (UK allows this without any evidence of wrong doing!) if I repeat the naming of the company or the university.
