I was on vacation last week when the original DP post was made and I think it is now down the page far enough for me to start a new one.

I had the good fortune to meet a double Grammy winning Nashville musician who has played and knows everyone. He and Marty Stuart played in a band when they were very young teens, he toured with Glen Campbell for 12 years, recorded with Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Emmylou Harris, James Taylor and many, many others.

I asked him if he knew Dolly. He pulled out his phone and showed me a pic of them together. He had recorded with her. I asked what she was like and he said, "If you like what you see in public, she's all that and more in private". He said she would light up a room when she entered.

He and some musicians were recording at her house. The session lasted into the wee hours of the morning. When they were done, they all went to the kitchen and Dolly made them breakfast from scratch.

I'm sure you have read/heard stories of her philanthropy and thought you might like to hear a "behind the scenes" story.
