I was the opposite, they advised me to reduce the full rebuild estimate for my house to get the premium down. I used the official calculator to estimate the full cost.
Interestingly, I reported it to my normal broker who told my insurer who gave me £1m rebuilding cover, well in excess of the official estimate, for no extra charge.
Got to sort out my bike insurance & MOT this month.
