I had to go to the Volvo garage yesterday and now find Volvo has suspended making new XC40 cars so i cannot have the colour i ordered as no stock. I had seen that they have 1000s of new 2027 models already built but maybe not many sales.
I did manage to find the model in a blue colour with white seats so that is what will come in.
There is a 4000 pound discount on all the stock cars at the moment so it now cost less than the one i bought in 2020.
This will be my 3rd new Volvo and previous ones had no faults at all or any rattles. The Mazda CX30 looked tempting but 60bhp less power and uses more fuel.
I only do 6000 miles a year now so fuel cost is quite reasonable on a Volvo and the last one made 37mpg over 3 years mixed running.
When in Germany last week, i was speaking to an average German man and he said that unemployment is high and all German car production is lower now.
This may be due to the Chinese taking a large portion of the market with very low prices and lease arrangements. If you consider a new Chinese car, many insurers will not give cover but there are a few that will. Ask before buying.
