the idea is that you charge the battery when elec is about 9p a unit , in the middle of the night , then you feed it back into the house fusebox, during daylight hours this replaces a lot of power you would pay 56p a unit for this system will be FREE , and paid for by the housing assoc as a method of reducing there tenants cost , a system like this would be £3k to £5k
my sister has solor panels on her bungalow , done when gov was happy to waste money , she is paid about 80p for every unit she gives the grid , that deal stopped (new customers) a long time ago , new customers get about 20p , hense people fitting batteries and keeping the surplus
regarding boilers my bathroom is a wetroom , vynyl floor an fully tiled , when I moved in in feb I was struggling to get temp over 19-20 degrees with heating on , when the "motability boss man" came round , he spotted a 2kw fan heater , that i had just bought , and went basllistic , saying I could hot have a fan heater on bathroom floor (i used it for 10 mins before a shower then removed it from room), after a discussion on how 19 deg was too cold for a pensioner , a rather large double rad was fitted , at midnight , (heating was on between 7pm and 10pm) , the temp is 23 degrees , very nice
