Most talian bikes from the 70s took a lot of getting used to, and many people just didn't have the determination to put up with that initiation process.

Personally, despite admiring them, I never gelled with Laverdas, and my one & only brief experience of a Morini didn't convince me to buy it.

On the other hand I loved my Ducati, spent huge amounts on perfecting it, and despite it being incredibly uncomofteble rode it extensively over silly distances on silly Welsh roads for 20 odd years.
That was a feat that brought frequent ridicule from local bike club members!

When I bought my Le Mans it had had 6 owners in 6 years and only done 6000 miles from new so clearly it wasn't to their liking.
Being stubborn I persevered with it, eventually racking up over 40k miles and bitterly regret selling it to this day.
