100% agree Nek. I live in student land. It's pretty clear that students these days are often from very wealthy backgrounds: nice cars, expensive clothes and even bedding of goose down (sitting in our rear garden we get treated to hearing next door's conversations with each other - very illuminating! £300 coats, £1500 weekend holiday breaks and insane shoe expenditure being some of the items that have raised our eyebrows). I guess I shouldn't be surprised given the debt that must put any rational person off going but one thing that always strikes me as astonishing is just how many times they have delivered meals on the mopeds. Still, I guess lack of financial worries might be combined with rubbish cooking skills.
Then, as my wife pointed out, our cheap hobbies, cheap cars (which I don’t worry about being damaged at all) and sensible spending habits led to retirement at 59. As she said, they'll be working much longer while they learn!
