Many years ago, when family cars were not anywhere as quick as they now are I was riding my RGS. Just rolling along minding my own business when I was over taken by a Ford motorcar, however about a mile further on and without increasing my speed I caught him up now driving much slower, so I pass him and go on my way. No sooner am I past him than he accelerates and overtakes me once more, only for me to catch him up again a mile down the road by which time he has slowed down again. So once more I go past. This nonsense goes on for several more times so I decide not to let him go, only to catch up him again but to follow him instead. Not too close, but close enough so he can see me in his mirrors. Gradually we go quicker and quicker until he starts to to try and cut off corners and I realize this is just as fast his car will go. I fall back a bit, but continue to follow, suddenly after a few miles thereís is a loud noise like two anvils being beaten together and car is enveloped in blue smoke. I ride past, giving a cheerful wave, I donít see him again. |
