Anyone out riding today?

It's a balmy 5 degrees, time for thick socks & a decent pullover under the leathers.

I plan to be out and about this afternoon.

Who needs a signature anyway......

I'd rather poke nettles in my eyes than try to save a few quid by joining the needy madding crowd seeking out sale 'bargains'.

I can't think of anything worse then going to the sales, buying things that you didn't know that you wanted because they were reduced once in the Outer Hebrides.

We've got snow here in the Midlands. Not enough to cause any problems, but certainly enough to be cold and unpleasant...

Tier 2 here so shops open. 15% off everything so bought all the washing powder,bog rolls to last 12 months .Plus some bricklaying gear and a repointing gun, white paint and bitumen. A job for a dry day. Just shopped in one giant store.

After listening to local weather forecast which warned of icy patches and low temperatures I decided that discretion was the better part of valour.

I was just not worth the risk.

Instead I took the car out for a drive to visit to my Grandads grave - temp gauge was varying between 1.5 and o degrees so probably a wise move not to take the bike.

Dropping in on Grandad reminded me that it would have been my Dads birthday - he would have been 96 today, lit the usual candle in the garden for him when it got dark.

Sometimes wonder what he would have made of all this madness.

Who needs a signature anyway......

At least at school during the Cuban missile crisis we were lucky to have expert advisers who told us how to survive a nuclear attack by taping the windows, filling the bath with water, stockpiling rice and beans and to take shelter under the kitchen table.

Don't forget you also had the 4 minute warning. They used to have ex war time sirens in London which they used to test occasionally to warn you of incoming.

Aren`t you all supposed to be staying home unless it`s an emergency or shopping for food?

UK backpackers are in danger of being deported for over- crowding and partying on the beach, not observing social distancing rules. 1788 in reverse.

Out riding today? it's not been above 1degree C here. Anyway what have you all been doing recently? I have drunk more every day than the legal limit and if I was riding/driving I would be in serious Doo-Doo. It only takes a couple of pints or a couple of glasses of wine you know. Blimey I had half a bottle of Merlot with lunch yesterday and today, plus a few beers in the afternoon and evening!

Riding/driving? probably not for the rest of the week, after all its NYE on Thursday.

Hope you all had a great Christmas, despite not drinking anything. LOL.

Other opinions may be available but this one is always correct.

Started off bright and sunny here today but very cold, and was turning into a promising day.

It is now dark, and grey and piddling with rain, temp is hovering around the 4-5 degree mark.

Thoroughly unpleasant, an afternoons reading seems to be the thing to do.
