Sorry not bike related
Ive got a mate looking for a Lucas horn / dip switch they fit them to Series 1 Land Rovers £80 for new ones a bit steep so looking for S/ Hand or a breakers that may stock one any help Ta Moe

It must be me but.........why doesn't your friend just buy a new switch?

Other opinions may be available but this one is always correct.

I gathered that it's because he doesn't want to spend 80 pounds on one ... he wants to spend 10 ...

Lannis there are other reasons......
He might want an old switch so it matches the patina of the rest of his project....

Or he might want an old one so that the genuine Lucas smoke can leak as per the original....

If we're having a wager, though, I'll remind you that there are about 20 people who are just cheap for every 1 that is concerned about originality ... or just says he is, and is really number 21 ... !

Having driven series Land Rovers for 40 + years I have some idea of prices obtained. Series 1 stuff has gone the way of pre-war bike stuff. Pay the £80, it will be more in a short time.

On the Wheeler Dealers show, they often have Land Rovers, and get refurbished and second-hand parts from a large warehouse. I have no idea where it is. But these places do exist.

Lots of Land Rover breakers around but not much series 1 stuff about. I started with a series 2, then 2A a 110 Defender V8 and finally a series 3 short wheelbase (88). I now run a Land Rover Freelander 2.

Simon, you have got to want to drive a Land Rover, I agree they are unpleasant contraptions. My Wife only ever went in one of mine once and refused even a small trip afterwards ! When I retired I realised the pension would support the bikes or the Land Rover but not both. The bikes won.
