Only a few weeks to go

before we reach the golden uplands of Matt Hancocks free and glorious summer.
So have you decided on your first destination for when the traps do finally open.
I have and can't wait. It will be down to the pub on the quay at Mudeford for a pint and a fresh crab sandwich,
then on to the ferry over to the other side of the "cut" for a wander up the headland to sit in the Sun and watch the sea sparkling in the June sunshine and the old steamers butting through the briny on their way to, err, somewhere.

I am still waiting until i have my 2 jabs before too much mixing. A bit slow down here. Exeter are injecting people over 60 with no health problems but no appointment for me yet with multiple problems. I just wait my turn and maybe by May.

Exeter set the record for most in a day my daughter is having her inoculation on Wed at RD&E she's 42 but does work for a couple who are vulnerable.. Okehampton are on the 60s now though she has to go to Exeter.. Ethe Exmouth set up was brilliant carpark Marshalls and cleaner cleaning the handrails on the raised walkways into the Hall then the NHS staff bl--dy brilliant..

After my second jab and when permitted I'll be meeting up with chums for our usual shed natter.

After which I'll take the motorhome on the Newhaven - Dieppe ferry and enjoy some moules frites and a pichet of red on the harbour quay and then just follow my nose Southward, seducing a few random Grannies en route, as is my wont.

and a couple pre-groomed from a French Grab-a-Granny dating site. (Well, at least they're better than moules).

Yes Siree ! A lot more interesting than Mudeford.
I like France. So neat and trim yet you rarely see anyone working, in fact you rarely see anyone at all.
Long villages with not a sign of life. A school with no pupils, just the swings in the playground blowing in the wind.
On one long day all I saw was a couple of rabbits/hares bounding along in front of me as if for a laugh.

I know exactly what you mean. I always get the feeling that I'm the only one who hadn't heard the 5 minute nuclear attack warning.

They're all gathered en route Bonny Geoff as I travel on my own (well, at least to start with I do

). At 75 I'm getting a bit old for it now but the bonus is that most of them are widows and up for an adventure.
I sent Mark a TeaTime Tale of my French Grab-a-Granny trips on my old Matchless just before he passed away so never used.

Claudette, Ile de Ré - I changed a wheel for her on a country road, invited for B&B at her place then came with me for ten days.

Genevieve, archivist at the chateau of Azay le Rideau. I have a special interest in French medieval history so she invited me to the Norman archive cellars and showed me her artefacts......

A pint at the Haven on the quay sounds like a bloody good idea Sparrow. Not so keen on the crab sandwich but from memory they do a good scampi.

My first journey will be a nice steady jaunt aroind the Mendips, about a 40 mile round trip.

Destination will be home to back home again.

Nothing special, just the appreciation of freedom once again.

Who needs a signature anyway......

Is that the Mudeford near Christchurch? It sounds a good place to go after house arrest. Not to far from Basingstoke.

That boozer that Sparrow mentioned is the one that has odd steps down from the back door to the outside seating area. The drop from the last step catches you unaware when carrying one of their flexible rubber trays with a few drinks on. I got caught out good and proper! Two bottles of orange squash fell over on the tray, as I tried to hold the tray with one hand one rolled off and smashed on the floor, the other, half emptied, I managed to turn upright for what it was worth. All in front of a crowd of people sitting at the tables of course! I do remember limiting my expletives to 'oh Bollox' or similar.
The drop is so bad, someone could easily put their back out so beware!

My usual bimble from Ciren to Stowe via the old Whiteway drovers road and back via Burford and Bibury stopping for an egg roll and mug of tea. A Normandy jaunt soon after that. Lovely day for it today. But I’d better not, especially as I am due my first jab midday. Fixing the shed roof is probably the reality.
