Rather chilly this morning ...

Given a new toy yesterday, I'm now part of the Highlands & Islands Weather network. Solar-powered gadget outside does all the measuring, communicates wirelessly with a display inside that then communicates over t'internet.

Display said -16.2*C when I got up.

Tiny bit of snow here but its just above 0c and melting fast. The town is always quite a bit warmer than the outlying houses just a bit higher than sea level. Dave will have some snow 7 miles away.

Yes got snow a dusting windy but neighbour has just driven out and no tyre tracks in the snow so must be frozen....
Car overturned on Wooten Rd Geoff near to Hullam Rd. road blocked.. On Radio Exmouth.. one of the best radio channels give good road reports...

-2 here, blue skies, expected to be 0/+1 by mid day.
At that time the winter walking gear will be donned, car cleared & warmed and off we go to a regular place where the chances of meeting other people is minimal.
Except for a doctor appointment & coronacrap test (negative) two days ago I've not been out for 11 days due weather and health shyte.
Cabin fever alleviation!

Gadget says -16.7 here before sunrise but social meeja says the next valley over was -24 last night ...

Same here so will probably go out again on last week's new toy - Snowfeet. We can't downhill-ski here easily but these work cross-country if the track's wider than a footpath. I can wear them with snowboard boots, although I might still lash out on proper cross-country gear anyway.
