Happy Himmo day to me!

Yes, picked it up this morning - it's good to be riding a thumper once again. Great ride home, and great experience with the dealer Quarry Bank Motorcycles.

You took the plunge then - hope you enjoy it.

I have modded the tank panniers on mine as I just dont like the look of them, and would have never used them.

I'll post up a pic of mine tomorrow - just come home from a 50 mile bimble on mine.

P.S. What tyres have you got on yours? - mine has the pirelli trail type tyres fitted to it and I plan to fit "proper" road tyres to mine sometime, rear tyre is already getting pretty low after 4500 miles.

Quarray Bonk, That doe arf tek me back to when I was an apprentice.
One of my apprentice colleagues lived there and I bought a BSA C11G from him. The big end had gone so I collected it with the help of another mate who rode a 650 Thunderbird with a sidecar chassis. The C11G laid down horizontally on the frame.

Yes, I know I said I would post up a picture of mine tomorrow, but anyway, here it is.

Mine has a rear "hugger" fitted as well as a front mudguard deflector fitted - really good at keeping crud off the bash plate and rear shock.

Bike is pretty dirty, light is getting a bit dim.

Looks good Andy - I like what you've done with the front rack. I may use mine going away to rallies, so I'll be leaving it for now. I've got a shock boot on order already though...

Definately worthwhile fitting a shock boot - the shock does get covered in crud otherwise.

Worthwhile registering with Hitchcocks so you can use their noticeboard if you have not done so already.

Mods done to mine already - really dont plan on any more

Lextec pipe - did a deal on this when I bought the bike sounds a bit ore fruity but not too loud unless you remove the baffle !!

Hitchcocks air delete kit - improves pickup

1 tooth larger gearbox sprocket - makes for more relaxed crusing and does not impact acceleration, really worthwhile.

Home made "Booster Plug" - some Hims suffer from snatching at low throttle and or random cutting out, seems to have fixed my problem

Cut down screen - I suffered wind buffeting with the standard screen.

Junked the "eco" cannister housed in the bash plate - can cause tank venting issues and slow running.

Hugger & front mudguard deflector - you have a shock sock on order - I would recommend the front mudguard extension as well as it keeps your bashplate clean - inexpensive mod.

Re located the ambient air temp sensor - located where it is it reads around 8 - 10 degrees higher due to hot air from engine.

Hitchcocks sintered front brake pads - front brake is a bit lacking in power, but to be honest has not made a great dela of difference.

No doubt that as you use yours you will probably make mods to suit your riding style.

I have a list which includes getting shot of the EVAP nonsense and getting the air delete kit. I have the info to hand for making a booster plug, but I'll only bother if I do get any stalling/slow running issues - there was no apparent issue during the ride home, but then it's only 16 months old with 850 miles on the clock so it's possible issues may surface in the future.

Interesting point about the layshaft sprocket. I'll see how I get on with the standard gearing but will bear it in mind, thanks.

CF no worries - sounds like you have your finger on the pulse as they say.

I was sceptical about the gearing, but trust me it really does transform the bike.

I know it's a personal type of thing, but I just don't like 2 mudguards - to me, it looks silly.

Stu - I think it is a "styling" feature more than anythig and can be easily removed.

Here is a snap of my old one back in 2019.
I did all all mods including a tail tidy. Sold it after 6 months because of the stalling issues that most have and the seat was so uncomfortable. Best things about the Himmy are the fuel consumption and the user groups. I went on 2 Himmy camping trips and made some good friends. They are not really ideal for off road, too heavy, but a decent local hack. Enjoy.
