Andy, the work was a collaboration with Mick Hunter of 2wheels in Farnborough He guided me throughout, there are a lot of things un usual about it,Petrol thank was an Indian Velocette thruxton repro that was damaged in transit so we cut a wedge off the bottom edge 1" at the front to get it under the steering head to the top of the original carb cut out, new base to accommodate the head & rocker box then added the faux pie crust that was soldered on that was created by a local firm by spark erosion, then i cleaned up the edges by file. the Engine was rebored and re balanced the head changed to a later 350 alloy, inlet taken out to 32mm Volkswagen valve springs fitted and head gasflowed as Geoff says Triumph TLS brake with that horrible scoop radiused, new rims etc a proper labour of love & on good Authority every bit as quick after he tried several times as a friends Manx of the same era though I doubt it would last as long at sustained high speed,I was only brave in a straight line with that suspension so flash on the straight cautious round the bend. & the bridge TUD is located at Tilford & over the river Wey. It's had a few owners since i parted with it for £6500.00 then pxd to a dealer so dont know the value then 2buyers later he told me he paid £7800.00 aroud August 2020 last time I saw it for sale the asking was £12995.00 In their dreams!|
