Gloves on seat

They do get a bit noisey when you give it large, but around town / built up areas if you keep it on the leash it is reasonably sociable.

Certainly not in the same league as the open pipe brigade.

The 350 mongrel triple that I had really was loud - too loud to be honest, but no longer my problem since I sold it.

It drew too much attention even at low revs. a bit embarrasing to be honest.

It's not actually that bad, probably mid 30's, but I dont hammer it.

Still not brilliant but since it is not my daily transport I dont worry about it.

Jaysus! I did 100 miles fairly enthusiatically yesterday afternoon here in East Anglia aboard my Triumph 1200 Scrambler and saw upper mid-50's. It's going to be my mount for Somerset Advanced Motorcyclists' South West Peninsular Spring Rally next weekend. That's a cracking day riding in the west country with an overnight stop either side for us chaps from the eastern counties. ;-

Wherabouts are you going to be riding in the West country Chazzy?

Going to be a bit colder next weekend, but the scenery will still look good.

Well then... it all kicks off at Stoke St Gregory at breakfast time. We're heading west via Exmoor in places to near Ilfracombe. Then down to Okehampton, east to Dorchester, then back up to Stoke St Gregory. Then back to pub and bed at Martock.

Stoke St Gregory - that's a bit in the middle of nowhere, sounds like you are covering a fair bit of ground.
