Triumph recall

I see that new Triumph speed triples are being re- called through brake disc problems Apparently the bolts holding the discs are not the correct thread profile and even with locking compound they work loose..Somebody made a mistake

The discs failed on my R111 at low mileage as did the boys discs. Trouble was they were out of warranty. It was the rivets that failed with the spring washers fracturing and dropping out. EBC discs were the solution.

If it was third world quality control they probably wouldn't be having a recall

And my Triumphs have had recalls but were made in Leicestershire so what's to blame there? First world quality control?

Is it really Quality Control? I would think it comes under Design fault and therefore fault lies with Hinkley. Unless of course someone has been ignoring the manufacturing instructions and picking the nearest bolts available.

Most of the Truimph parts are assembled in the far East then shipped back assembled here the same as others like Ford blocks for engines made here sent to Italy for machining cranks and pistons from some other country the the whole assembled in Spain so a lot of shipping of parts ..

The fork bushes on my first Tiger failed. They had been made in South Africa and Triumph discovered some (but not all) were marginally out of spec. It was the fault of an independent component manufacturer's quality control. Short of checking every single one on the production line I'm not sure how Triumph could have prevented it = its mass produced not a bespoke handmade bike with no expense spared.
