If E10 is so good......

Why does my Speedmaster run 10 times better on E5?

Yes I know this is another E10 thread.

I had been running the Speedmaster on E10, today I had to fill with E5 because that is all the petrol station had that I pulled into.

The difference was very noticeable and immediate - ran much smoother, no snatching at low revs, better pick up. It felt like a different bike.

No doubt others with have the polar opposite view, but from now on E5 is going in the Speedmaster and damn the expense.

Finally, I have said it before but the Him also runs notieably better on E5.

Who needs a signature anyway......

Run E5 in the Ancient Volvo all OK tried E10 it wasn't the same and less mpg..

BP garage just north of Baldock on the A1 is now charging £1.89 point something per litre for diesel, so much for the savings in the Budget. Sorry to pinch your thread Andy.

Not at all Den - seems to go up a couple of pence a week down here in Zummerzet.

My large bikes run well on the E10 and the new car was designed to use it. I am lucky.

Perhaps the quality of what we get around is variable 9/10 times I always use the same filling station.

But I am +ve that the bikes run much better on E10.

E80 is available at a few Neumann Petroleum stations around Brisbane.

I only use the higher octane and E5 in the old bikes. I doubt E10 will suit either one of them. I can run the T120r on the lower grade but there is a risk of piston holing

Most modernish bikes have an ECU that compensate for multi grade fuels ...

Well it does not make a good job of compensating on the Speedmaster or Him

In run my Yamaha T80 Townmate on E10, no change in performance and on a 95 mile run yesterday got 130 mpg
