Car ignition part 2.

Fitting the new parts have made it worse. 50% of the time now.

I bought this 2015 Vauxhall from our local dealer second hand in 2016. The ignition problem has been since 2018. They have also been unable to fix the a/c unit even after putting special dye through the system.

Do I have any grounds for suing them for incompetence? They clearly cannot repair their own vehicles.

Any advice much appreciated as I now have a car that has probably depreciated in value by 75%.

A65 Bill would probably know but he is in another place nowadays.

I shouldn't think you could as you have had it some time unless it's been in for repair most of that time..Our Ancient Volvo always just missed when accelerating hard and was told it was the injectors needed better fuel which we did every so often seemed to work ..until on a trip back from London it went onto two cylinders limped home Son fitted new leads, plugs,distributer cap and rotor,runs perfectly now ..milometer has packed up now..but do have another readout on the dash.

Trying to be like Billiam and keeping my reply succinct........you have not got a hope in hell.

Other opinions may be available but this one is always correct.

David when you bought it what warrwnty did you get for a second hand car? Six months or perhaps the balance of the manufacturers warranty? Both of which have long expired. Caveat Emptor allies.

You could change the garage you are using.. My experience with main dealers is they have a lot of problems fixing faults in my brand new cars. Then i discovered Volvo and the two cars i have had, do not get faults to fix.
My boy in the garage reckons Honda cars have the least repairs or faults. VW s have the most repairs and faults especially diesel Golfs.
Time to sell it to an unsuspecting dealer David.
