Well, I've mentioned this before with pics but it didn't take much courage as I was riding with my two sons having previously just had a couple of trial runs on a Honda 90 Cub when trying to ride again after the multiple serious injuries from a (not my fault) smash on my Matchless. I remember nothing about the crash from 20 minutes before until about 10 days afterwards which makes it easier to ride again. |
I had ridden the Cub 60 miles with camping gear to an AMOC club rally but toppled over whilst stationary at the Reception tent and was ambulanced to the local hospital having again broken my (fortunately already unusable) right arm and the plate in my wrist. They couldn't fix it due to the pre-existing rod, screws, plate and screws in my arm so zombie'd me out with drugs and pain killers and told me to go to the hospital where it had been put in 12 months before!! ne son picked me up and a chum brought the Cub home for me.
6 months later my younger son had said he fancied riding to Spain to celebrate his 40th. My elder son said he'd go too and I found myself saying that they weren't going without me to celebrate my 70th so I bought the Honda 125. For several reasons I couldn't ride the written off Matchless which I'd bought back and been rebuilt. Besides I can't do much roadside fettling one-handed so figured that if necessary I would be able to get the popular Honda sorted by a dealer anywhere abroad.
(Apologies for the nostalgic rambling but it has been getting a bit quiet on here regarding biking stuff.
