New BSA Gold Star

Having previously said I was underwhelmed with the new Goldie, I've just seen some pictures of a Catalina style version which butters my parsnips. I know nothing about it, whether it's just a styling prototype or a real product, but it works better for me. Not keen on the silencer though...

I agree about that (and about the silencer) but fear like too many prototypes & design concepts it's purposeful look will be diluted by accountants, health & safety & legislation before it goes into production. For starters they'll insist on a chain guard, indicators, mirrors etc etc

Your right. FWIW I think a large thumper suits a dual sport style rather than a roadster. I won't be holding my breath...

I'm with you Brian, but there again I'm an old rocker so the cafe racer design does me. Good job we are all different.

Well I suppose we are very lucky, both being manufactured in 1944 Jerry, and can still manage a head down arse up machine. I still enjoy a good blast on the Goldie, but I must admit, I don't want too ride it round the world.

Found my Triumph Thruxton 900 just right good on performance rearsets and clipons all in the right place for me at six 6⃣ tall. Silly s-d sold it to buy the Pan ..they are difficult get a good second hand now..

Not for me - falls down of two specific fronts.

1). Exhaust wrap.

2). Lack of effective mud & chain guards.

Might get around to road testing a standard one when I am functional again - local dealer Cobb & Jagger in Shipley appear to have been appointed agents.

As Will said, if they make a street scrambler version it will look very little like that...and I don't understand the zorst wrap either.
