I'd like a pound for every mile I've driven one of those. The race boys sometimes fitted them with the Zodiac engine.

I knew a Thames minibus with an Aladdin paraffin heater to keep the passengers from getting hypothermia.

I had a red one as my race bike transporter in 1973. All good fun until the gear linkage got crossed up. It was then out with a big lever to uncross push and pull rods under the van. Not good when being driven hope with a broken collar bone from Snetterton and my driver couldn't fix it so I had to. Happy days......I think!

Yes been there a few times Jerry, but not with a broken collar bone.

The long starting handle was quite handy.

I had one as a camper van. The number of times the gear linkage rods crossed.

I think I was probably there as I have some B&W film taken at Blackbush dragster racing with my 8mm Matahari cine camera. I'm not sure it was the same event (although the year is right) because my film is all of dragster cars but no motorcycles....

(I've had the 8mm film transferred to disc and memory stick but can't fathom out how to extract the sequences to post them on here).

1964 picture I was paddock marshal ( I belonged to BMCRC and Greenwich MC they supplied marshals) the US team were Don Garlits Swamp Rat slingshot dragster Tommy Ivo top fuel dragster.Tony Nancy rear engined slingshot Barnstormer and Bob Kieth Os Palamo dragster also two Willy's coupes Montgomery and Pitman and several others from the US.
65 and 66 different US teams Bikes were run at all events Allard dragsters George Brown on his Vincent and even rocket propelled go cart ..
