Another clock question for Tonupdave.

I've had a request from an acquaintance to which you may be ale to help....

I want to cut 114 tooth gear for my clock which gives me a problem, my dividing head won't do 114 divisions, and my supplier can't make one for about 3 months.
So how do I accurately measure 114 divisions on a roughly 4" disk?

Can't help there both my Clock gear cutting friends who I used one has retired the other abroad ..and can't see how you divide 114 into 360 degrees.. I will enquire on one of my F/Book pages..

It should be easy to draw with CAD software, but don't know how easily it could then be produced with a CNC machine or 3D printer.

What is actually wrong with the original if its worn it can be reversed or if a tooth damaged dovetail a new tooth or teeth ..

My Dad used to replace worn out teeth by dovetailing a newly made one in. Regrettably I never inherited his patience nor skill.

TUD - Not sure what is the exact problem with the original wheel but will ask.

Edit:

I've spoken to him (no idea what he's taking about).

He said he'd found this site:

https://www.blocklayer.com/circle-dividereng

So printed off a 114 division circle, which he has glued to a bit of wood to mount on the dividing head.
As it will interface with one of the cotton reel gears. If it's slightly wrong it doesn't matter as long as the tooth count is correct.
