I forgot to add that many times I have been asked where do you go when you go out on your bike. When I tell them, just for a ride so anywhere really. That's when I get the strange look from some people that would never understand the joys of riding a motorbike.

FTFW rides are always the best although most of my rides last year did follow familiar roads to familiar places.

There is a thread running in the T Rat forum titled "Forgotten roads" The theme being about doing exactly what Jerry says, just going out a run. It reminded me of a run I used to take, and there was a junction I used to ride past until one I thought "I wonder where that road goes" One of my better decisions was made that day

I just go for a ride anywhere i decide on route. Never all that far but it is just a ride in the fresh air. No long rides anymore so limited the mileage on my insurance and it keeps it very low.

It is the Fairlie Moor Road coming from Dalry. The blue dot near the bottom of the photo is a near approximation of where I parked

If you ever see a 16 foot predator boat named Syndi-Kate on the Firth of Clyde she used to be mine. I sold her last year to a chap in Dunoon.

In a previous life, I used to cox'n Police Launches on the Clyde.

A couple of my mates are into sailing and the common expression I hear is "The best day of my life, the day I bought my boat. The 2nd best day of my life, the day I sold my boat"
