Last night on BBC4- Bridging the Gap film of the building of the first Severn Bridge wonderfull archive film and very detailed and good shots of vehicles queuing and driving onto the ferry ( Days when people could drive and park

..
Certainly interesting in how the design changed and now followed by bridge building world wide
A good hour of history ,worth a look

I will look for it on the box later this afternoon, after yet another hospital visit.
Once the bstards have got you they never seem to let go.

Edit - soon after the bridge was opened I took off to walk across on the pedestrian bit. Spent the night in a pub in Chepstow.
