SEVEN HOURS for RAC to attend

This morning a Vauxhall Corsa broke down outside my house. My wife & I helped the elderly owner push the car onto a neighbours drive to await the RAC whom at around 10.30am initially confirmed that could not respond until 1.30pm, and then later rang back to tell him it would be 4.30pm. The RAC van has just turned up at 5.20pm so almost SEVEN HOURS to respond. Luckily the car owner only lived about half a mile away so could walk home. Was not the RAC's slogam WE RAC(E) TO IT. What a shambles they have become, a once proud organisation with smart patrols on Norton sidecar outfits always there when you needed them. Not anymore. By the way their new slogan (on their vans)is COMPLETE PEACE OF MIND

Nothing changes. I phoned the RAC 24 hour emergency breakdown line in the late 70's and got no answer at all after holding on for 15 then 30 minutes...

You don't have to be crazy to post here, but it helps....

May be they should change their slogan to 'Complete piece of sh..'

After working as an AA patrol for 26 years the rot set in when they were privatised. Private equity companies who strip them to the bone. £££ signs flashing before their eyes.

Up to now I have never had a problem with the AA. Just hope I don't need to find out again.

Jerry it's not the ground floor people, they do their best. It's management the patrol have to sell their souls to the devil to cope with the terrible shift patterns with many of them burning out after a couple of years.

AutoAid ... one price covers me and swmbo, same price whether the vehicle's outside the house or at the top of Shetland; doesn't even have to be our vehicle, either of us can be a passenger in someone else's; been with 'em since 2002, never waited more than 45 minutes (usually less), no bollocks about calling the insurance company if it's an accident rather than a breakdown. Only grizzle is they've become a bit more graspy since being acquired by Right Choice ... up to £78 this year.

AutoAid was MoneySavingExpert's recommendation for years. However, this year, they've included Eversure.
