Anyone like a Merc ?
Posted by geoff the bonnie on May 8, 2024, 1:50 pm
After nearly a year, it has to go next Month. Low mileage and drives like a new car. Not even a scratch on the alloy wheels. Supercharged 1.8 with not a spot of rust anywhere. 50,000 miles

It looks about 2 years old but is actually a 2009 model. Nice red piped leather and air curtain to keep your neck warm when the hood is down. Been for a ride around this Morning but nowhere here to let it go fast. Its capable of over 140 mph but its really just a nice long legged tourer.
It is ULEZ exempt but you can find out using the number plate to be sure. I bought it so my wife could get used to an auto car before she goes out in a brand new one. She had not driven for 8 years but found it easy to get driving again. It was a good idea to find a quite complex high powered car just to make the comeback more difficult and it is 160 BHP. Spent some time finding this one in Cornwall kept in a heated garage and owned by a 78 year old for about 8 years previously. Going to the Midlands, i was able to get 39mpg at about 73mph which was pretty good. I am going to advertise it in June after another holiday. It will be about 5700 pounds with a new MOT just before its sale. It will certainly drive to anyones house even 250 mile away as there are no faults with it. Personal plate goes with it and would sell for over 500 pound but i dont need a personal plate so it stays with the car. The previous owner lived in a huge modern house, the type that would be near a million pounds. It will stand up to close scrutiny and any test drive. The Cornwall cars seem to last a long time as not so much salt on the roads. The previous owner did about 1000 mile a year looking at the old mots. He had developed heart problems lately so decided to buy a brand new VW Golf EV
Yes, the personal plate was on it when i bought it. Not something i would bother with as there is a fee each time you swap cars. This particular SLK model usually has personal plates as it is difficult to work out its age. The general shape ran from about 1998 to about 2016. This one had the front end inspired by the F1Cars of its year if you look at the aerodynamic spoilers on the front. Its quite a large car and much bigger than an E type Jag. Boot will hold 2 very large suitcases and 2 more hand luggage bags. Tried to get a Grandchild to buy it but they all want 5 seater cars. Insurance for us 2 using my wifes name as she owns it and no, no claims at all was about 400 comprehensive. The road tax is over 400 pounds which was a surprise. She has been diving the new car Today as i had eye tests with chemicals that open the eyes up for taking a photo. Eyes opened so much i can see the USA flag on the moon now.
