ULEZ test

For Jerry especially.
I have just read in the Guzzi mag that a guy saved his 1991 Yamaha from scrapping by taking it to an MOT centre in Deptford that also does ULEZ testing and it passed. Plus, they charge £175 only if the bike passes.
Apparently most bikes pass, even though they need minor adjustments.
Maybe telling my granny to suck eggs but thought it might be relevant as TFL has not actively advertised this process.

My PanEuropean was legal I got a confirmation from Honda in Letter and emissions stated ..

Sure that many vehicles are assumed to be guilty until proven innocent, at the cost to the owner.
Although I have no intention of visiting any ULEZ zone, I put in the reg no of my 2005 ANF125 out of interest. It was listed as one that would have a charge.
Hmm, find it hard to believe that the little Honda produces that many emissions.

I hear the Sultan is intending to levy the congestion charge on all vehicles regardless of emissions (EVs and certain other categories are currently CC exempt).

I anticipate similarly he will soon make every vehicle pay ULEZ....

and then the ULEZ zone will be extended outwards so it won't be long before it joins up with the Welsh 20mph speed limits.

I wish they would put a20 MPH on the road outside my place Bl---y nutters Cars and bikes screw the guts out of their engines because its no limit in 200 yards .. I'm afraid the bikes are the worse ..

Why ? The nutters can ignore a 20 limit the same as they ignore the current limit - won't make any difference to them.

A fact highway authorities completely and repeatedly fail to understand.
Its like the farce of giving endorsements or 'points' to someone for driving without a licence.

Not around here - 20 limits introduced seeminly willy-nilly then enforcement ingnored like most 30 limits. Unless a councillor happens to live nearby, of course, then there is no problem getting camera vans routinely sited.

Quite. I don't think they ever install cameras specifically because its a 20 limit. If there are any its a coincidence and they were put there for another reason like a junction, pedestrian crossing etc.
And sadly even cameras don't deter the determinately dangerous drivers with a complete disregard for the Highway Code, Road, Traffic Act, Police, Courts etc etc

The ULEZ vehicles are strange. The Mercedes SLK with supercharger i just sold was exempt from ULEZ charges. Now that is a car you might expect to have a charge with over 160 bhp and a 1.8 engine with auto gears

Did you know brothers that Earls Court citadel of our motor cycle and car dreams and Billy Graham too if you are so inclined is no more gone, that monothlith of concrete has gone. It is no more. Just a gap surrounded by hoardings. I tell you boys I was utterly gobsmacked. When I didn’t see it. What with the 20mph speed limit throughout London anall. I tell you boys, we have had the best of it. Move now Gerry and please switch out the light.
