We stopped the boats by shooting down the airplanes. I'm not sure that would go down too well now. Maybe we ought to resurrect Francis Drake and get him to see off the Armada?

I did ask RNLI why they picked up people leaving France and in difficulty in a boat. I asked why they were not returned from the Country they were leaving. No reply yet.
I did say that if they picked me up from my boat in Exmouth and took me to France i would be furious.
Strange times we are in.

Any return of migrants by rescuing vessel to a state’s territorial waters requires that state’s consent. France hasn't agreed to that for rescued migrants.

France hasn't agreed to that for rescued migrants = the Gallic shrug ie up yours.

Reminds me of a fight I broke up between two friends many many years ago. Saved one from a severe beating. When things calmed down they became best friends and I got completely ignored. I am not sure any European country loves us so why we bother with fighting their wars I really don't know. Tow the illegals back into French waters and put two fingers up to them just like they do to us.
