Those things have always looked like deathtraps to me. It looks extremely original though. Can't believe it's lasted 102 years without being destroyed!

I like the home made in a shed look about the very old bikes but not sure i would really want to ride one very far.

This is the same layout as WW1 aircraft, whereby the crankshaft was stationary and attached to the airframe, the cylinders and prop were as one and spun! As far as I know, regulation of the engine was done by killing sparks to cylinders.
