Halfords

We have a very modern Halfords in Exmouth on a modern estate next to McDonalds and other major retailers. They have decided to close it down. B&Q also shut down a unit nearby. I guess money is getting tight here. Maybe its internet buying ?

Bicycle sales have dropped through the floor. Retailers physical and online have taken a hammering.

When i do go to the store, there are very few customers. I suppose its hard to keep making a profit while paying about 6 staff for 7 days a week opening. I buy very little from them as local motor factors are selling at lower prices. Mainly, i just buy paint cans for spraying bikes. With the trade card, the cost is not bad. When B%Q moved out, The Range moved in selling household products and that is very busy

We have a couple of large motor factors locally, their stuff is much cheaper than Halfords, and they can get just about anything with no hassle.

Who needs a signature anyway......

Long time since I used Halfords, was 25 miles from nearest,everytime I went in for a component it was."be here tomorrow sir"
