Geoff Capes

Died Yesterday but very little news coverage for a man who had done a lot in his life. Age 75 but no cause of death mentioned. He was fantastic in the Worlds strongest man competition.

Seem to remember he was an Ex copper, and used to keep budgies as a hobby.

I would have thought that his death would have been quite "newsworthy".

Certainly very memorable back in the old days of WSM.

Guess if they don't open the pearly gates for him he will bend the bars and climb through.

Who needs a signature anyway......

There was quite full coverage/obituary on BBC news, in fact rather more than I expected.

Good he is getting some notice. He was an expert on budgies and president of some bird club. Not as big as the one in WSM these days but good to watch back 40 years ago when at his peak.
