I'm on our county Electoral Board so have been very busy since 0400 and won't get done until 2200 tonight.

Our little county is probably 75% for Trump and voting is very heavy ... We usually have 50% to 60% turnout but it looks like it will be closer to 80% this time.

I'm guessing Trump, but as you say will it make any difference? The conservative Republicans have had control of the Presidency, the House of Representatives, AND the Senate in the recent past and they STILL don't reverse the Democratic laws
and policies in place.

So I guess we'll see .....

No. We don't elect our President by popular vote. It's a long story but this may help you understand.

In Australia polling only goes for about 4 to 6 weeks; by then most of us are getting annoyed with all the hype. Americans have to suffer nearly all year round.
They need another Mussolini; Donald Trump seems to fit the bill.

Lots and lots of things to like about the UK still. Even a crusty old American right-winger like me has considered what a retirement life in Cornwall or Kent or Derbyshire or the IOM might be like.

Like many of you, though, it's family that keeps me here; grandchildren and future great grandchildren.

The other downsides you already know, because you guys bring them up and complain about them all the time ...! Although that could be just The Clique's cunning plan to reduce immigration.

Never mind the europian countries robbed of the coastal population by the Barbary Pirates.
You know what I find interesting most? Not one of those countries invented a motocycle.

If those people taken from Africa had stayed there, what do you think their offsprings lives would be like now?

Not like the one they have now in USA I think, not all all afro americans are losers, some get quite high rank in govt for instance.

Last term, he somehow forgot to be a Nazi, to slaughter women, to put black people in chains, to start or enable wars, and all that other Monster stuff.

But almost all that money stayed here, paying wages for campaign workers, campaign bus drivers, people who manufacture leaflets, signs, hats, shirts, and flags, who set up interviews ... They didn't just burn the money in some central Asian territorial dispute.

So depending on what business you're in ....

Sorry for this political thread, as MM pointed out back in the day it would have been snipped.

And this forum, although many of the "characters" of the past have moved on or out, does not descend into hateful name calling and threats when political topics arise.

As Mike said Martin owned the Site and he set the rules. If you joined you accepted those rules. Sadly he is no longer with us and someone else, who? probably an old member that pops in from time to time, and now nobody knows the rules so the playground is not, to our knowledge, patrolled so the kiddies, me included, run riot.

If you do not use it then you have missed nothing. However it is simple to use and loading photos is both simpler and faster than on this old style message forum.

I have used Facebook almost since it started othing wrong with it at all you can get more information than on here if you don't like a comment delete and you can Lear a lot on it plenty of information on Bikes for almost all makes sadly some of the US sites are a bit one way orientated
But I did find out that my Ariel special is not a one off there are two in the US almost identical and we're sold as Cyclones . Ariel club didn't know there were Cyclone twins..

The Ariel singles that are in the USA are the same as mine which is an All alloy 500 single in a later Swing arm frame I always thought mine was somebody's mongrel and never seen one in the UK but apparently the two that are in the USA are the same 1952 Alloy engine in a later swing arm frame they were bought as Cyclones according to their orders so some confusion ..
The original VHA all alloy engine was fitted to the Ariel plunger frame in 1962 and painted a light blue for the Queens Coronation only 200 made. The engine is entirely different to other Ariel engines.. if that explains the difference.

Seems like the Cyclone was only made as a twin based on the Ariel Huntmaster but maybe I am wrong Dave?

The alloy VHA was indeed fitted into the plunger (Anstey link) plunger frame in 1952, NOT 1962. It was available in Claret and also a black frame and red tank. The 1952 blue was used on the Square 4.

I have only seen blue VHAs only 200 made bits for the engine ar like hens teeth timing covers a fortune also the all steel flywheels far nicer than the later ones the barrel and head are only on that modle they are being copied down under used for sandracing and sprints..
