dunkelflaute - O/T

A German word that reflects the current doom / gloom in the UK:

Roughly translates to a "dark wind lull" or "dark doldrums". It describes a situation where there's minimal sunshine and wind for extended periods - meteorologists also refer to this as anticyclonic gloom.

Certainly another dunkelflaute day in the offing here, went out into the cabin in the garden to start work, misty rain, cloud and fog.

Apparently it can have a drastic affect on "green energy" production.

Still look on the bright side it is not cold so not having to use much energy on heat.

Who needs a signature anyway......

That explains why the flag on the garden pole is drooping now. I have my November 11th poppy flag out at the moment and its not flying at all.

According to the weather since the 28th Oct the Southwest has only seen about an hour of sunshine.

So much for solar and wind power !

My records show two and half weeks with no sun yesterday I saw I bit of blue sky that soon disappeared.. getting well p----d of had drizzle for a few days as well..12.4 C and still overcast
and rain forcast that's from my weather station.

We voted the Demonrats out because they believe if you send them more money, Government will fix all your problems. Trump's positions are exactly the opposite...

In Ancient Greece the eastern wind, now referred to as Ostria, was taken into account during criminal trials because of its depressing effect. It is certainly an uncomfortably warm wind.
Perhaps nowadays the current perpetual clag in this country should be taken into consideration.

Blimey Andy, knowing you've been in the garage lately and seeing the headline I thought "that gearbox on the KH must be bad". Don't worry about the weather, I heard on the news that this year has been the hottest on record. They didn't say where they took the temperatures though!
