The KH Gearbox

Thought I would post up something bike related.

Have all the bits ready for the rebuild - 2 x new ball races, loctite, crankcase sealant, the 2nd hand gear cluster which has been checked and new circlips fitted.

Probably give riding a miss this afternoon, and concentrate on cleaning up the case faces, and double checking that the gears work as they should before applying sealant and loctite and bolting it back up together.

Who needs a signature anyway......

Good luck Andy defo a day for working in the garage and not riding. Can't see me getting out tomorrow forecast pretty grim.

I am the opposite, I like to try and keep on top of jobs like this. If stuff is left hanging around in pieces the shed fairies often move stuff

Just come in for a break after round 1 - crankcases now assembled, all gears working, rubber engine mount re installed.

Engine now the right way up on the bench, started removing all the old cylinder base gaskets / cleaning it all up.

Loads mmore to do yet.

Strange weather, quite windy, a bit of rain, but very "warm" for the time of year.

Who needs a signature anyway......

Had enough for today, crankcases now ready to go back into the frame, but before I do that I need to sort out the sidestand mounting hole, probably need to make the hole larger and turn / press fit a sleeve as the original hole has gone egg shaped over the years.

Easier to do with the engine out.
