Glad I didn't load my two bikes up that I was showing on the BRT Racing stand. The show and autojumble has been moved to January.

I admire the organisers of winter events. It must be both costly and soul destroying when weather ruins attendance or causes cancellation. They must be a resilient breed to keep going and I appreciate their efforts.

I was going to attend this time with it being a show and was bringing the boy. Now it has to be the Sunday car boot sale instead unless its more rain.
January is not one i can go to as just before my holiday.

The same with farmers. I don't have what it takes to be one. My neighbor (full time farmer) told me the way to have 1 million dollars as a farmer is to start out with 2.

I have relatives and neighbors who farm; one leases our land.

Even when you are smart and experienced, it's a grind. Some haven't taken a vacation in years. Dairy farmers start their day at 0400 or so 24/7/365.

It's a lifestyle that they've chosen. Far different in many ways from working for a boss for a paycheck. The ones I know wouldn't have it any other way, and I'm glad of it. I like to eat.

Expecting gusts around 80 mph here so a few ridge tiles will be hitting car roofs. Last time we had this wind, 2 of my porch lean to roofs blew away. They are now fitted back with extra bracing so this will be interesting.

Some houses on hills facing the sea in The Sunshine Coast have steel rods from the roof down into the ground. During the Cyclone season, some houses have been lifted from their foundations.
