Driving is......

Starting to become a bit of a chore.

Had to do a few errands earlier today and this evening, all of these oversize vehicles are getting on my tits.

So many people take up 2 parking spaces with them or park so close to you you need a can opener to get back in your car, another thing they do is overhang the bay (they have no choice) so you have keep going backwards / forwards to get out.

If one of them pulls up alongside you at a junction you cant see whats coming until they are gone - had some twat behind me beeping because I was waiting for the behemouth to move so I had a clear view of the junction.

And in the evening the usual problem with LED headlamps, and what is the idea of that stupid horozontal bar that goes accross the ful width of the vehicle - looks like an illuminated 5 bar gate coming towards you.

Starting to feel like a free for all with the monsters being the only winners.

Glad to be home, feet up with a cup of tea feel perhaps I am getting to old for all this crap.

Grrrrrrrrrr.

Have to agree re the bright headlights. So dangerous at for night driving. I'm surprised a law hasn't been introduced to get them downgraded.

Exactly Will which is why I said that some of them have no choice other than to overhang parking bays.

I am also convinced that a lot of the leviathon drivers cannot judge the width of them.

I think that when bkie riding becomes the same sort of chore it will be time to stop.

I put the 24-year-old Mazda in for its annual service this morning but it has only done 88000 kilometres.
I must try to drive further than Woolworths to get some mileage up.

Just over 54,500 miles or about 2,200 miles a year, that is pretty low mileage Leon.

Do you guys really still have Woolworth? They disapeared from the UK years ago.

Ummm ... why?

When the "behemoth" beside your vehicle pulls out, pull out beside it - if the "behemoth" driver has misjudged an approaching vehicle, that vehicle's going to hit the "behemoth", not yours. Not surprised the driver of the vehicle behind yours was hooting.

I've just returned from a 5-day 1600-mile trip, driving during both day and night. Bright headlamps? Yes, bit of a pain but they soon pass. Narrow parking spaces? So park where it isn't a problem - e.g. not all supermarkets have narrow parking spaces.

What I like is doing what I want without any deadlines (well, I get a bit of earache from swmbo home alone with the dog but someone has to support the lifestyle to which I'm now accustomed

If life's a bed of roses, there's going to be some pricks. So FFS get out and [b][u]enjoy[/u][/b] what you have, God knows we'll all be pushing up daisies sooner rather than later.

The junction in question is an accident blackspot, I was wanting to turn right, the behemoth that pulled up alongside to my left prevented me seeing what was coming from the left, so even if my right was clear I could not pull out as I could not see if my left was clear.

I ain't moving until I can see, and I don't care what twat is behind me honking.

I would not recommend using a 4x4 as shelter when pulling out. I saw one beating the red lights on A14 junction here, just as a budding F1 driver was jumping the green lights his side.
The saloon car hid the 4x4 mid-ships & flipped it over. Anyone using it as cover would have been crushed.

Fine until they ignore the no parking zone at the end of the row - it happens.

Perhaps we just have more than our fair share of crap drivers in oversize vehicles around here who don't seem to give a crap.

Some of our shopping centres have double lines separating the parking spaces, reducing the chances of careless drivers of single wide-door cars dinging on yours.

The better LED headlights have many lenses fitted. Mine direct more light to the hedge if a car approaches so i can at least see where the hedge is.
The lights dont seem to dazzle anyone and they dip if a car approches or if one is in front
