RIP Mad Mike

It's with sad heart I have to tell you all that Mad Mike passed away in hospital last night. His wife and Daughter Sarah were with him at the end. I spoke to Sarah this morning and the end was very peaceful and pain free.

The oldest rocker in town!

Ah, no. That's so sad. I met Mike last year doing an IKBA relay for his Commando petrol tank. A truly lovely guy with many a good story and he even gave me a bottle of his lovely Merlot. He once knocked up some spacers on his lathe for my fork tubes all just out of the goodness of his heart.

A great loss to us and to his family.

I met Mike and his wife twice at the bungalow when he was having a new kitchen and i was nearby, Plus, went on my bike with my wife on pillion and Sarah was there. Sat in the garden next to the Koi pond in that lovely Bungalow with a garage full of bikes and machines. Then we met a few more times at the NEC shows and the museum. brilliant man with a nice family.
Condolences to the 2 ladies and Mike will be riding high now. But on a Triumph of course.

He will be Sorley missed by us all here as well as those on Facebook.

We will all miss him on this board. I have his post about his heart operation, telling Joan who was going through the same procedure not to worry as it will be successful.
She is certainly full of energy now.

A sad loss for us all, but especially for Sarah and Maureen.
I spoke with Michael on the Friday before he went into hospital, he sounded very unwell, but offered to do something for me and for BSAOC, once he was better - generous to a fault.
A great technical help, when I bought my Myford lathe, I have a set of Myford collets he sold me.
When I was very seriously ill in hospital, my brother from Cheshire & Michael from Leicestershire both turned up unannounced on the same day. The boost they gave me meant the staff waived visiting restrictions.
