Some of the larger boxed models sell on ebay at over 100 pounds now Dave. Normally in a black box with a write up. i got one for a Xmas present a long time ago and that particular one is about 150 now.

My brother had a large collection of models like those. When he died we sold some very easily (but for far less than they had cost him!). The majority proved quite difficult to sell and eventually they went to an automobilia auction where they were sold in groups of 2 or 3 per lot, probably to dealers, for comparatively low prices.

The ones that had sold quickly and for better prices were either people's dream bikes & cars, or were exactly the same colour scheme & spec as a real one they owned. Anything else didn't attract many buyers.

They weren't dear in the first place the ones in cases were no more than a £1 Some of the others were from Lidles centre isle the Yellow Triumph Thruxton was from there same as my bike at the time the Vincent was a kit. So not worth a lot I'm just a collector .. have numerous Oil lamps plus a few acetylene ones I'm a Squirrel

What scale is that last Triumph (T100, T110) Dave. I would love that.

It's about 4 inches long Triumph Thunderbird made by
ITALERI look online there are loads made by various companies in this scale as you can see when bough only at most a couple of quid .. I was in Queensland I'm Aus and saw a modle shop got Mazto pull over and inside the shop had rows of these little bike modles and managed together her a Lambretta scooter identical to her first two wheeled transport you couldn't believe it

Thanks Dave, I didn't know they did the Thunderbird in that colour and always remember it being used on the T100 and T110. Live and learn as the saying goes.
